1. Service Description

20% Better (“the Service”) is a wellness education tool that analyzes raw DNA data files from consumer genetic testing services (23andMe, Ancestry, MyHeritage) and generates personalized health reports covering nutrition, supplementation, fitness, and genetic risk awareness.

The Service is not a medical device, diagnostic tool, or substitute for professional medical advice. Reports are for informational and educational purposes only.

2. Eligibility

By using the Service, you represent that you:

  • Are at least 18 years of age
  • Have the legal right to upload the DNA data file you provide
  • Are uploading your own genetic data or have explicit consent from the data subject
  • Will not upload data belonging to someone else without their informed consent

3. How It Works

When you use the Service:

  1. You upload a raw DNA data file from a supported consumer genetic testing service
  2. You provide your name and email address
  3. You complete a one-time payment of $29 via Stripe
  4. We analyze your genetic data against our curated database of health-relevant markers
  5. We deliver a personalized PDF report to your email
  6. Your raw DNA file is permanently deleted from our systems

4. Payment and Pricing

The Service is offered as a one-time purchase at the price displayed on the website at the time of checkout. Payment is processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your payment card information.

Founding member pricing is available on a first-come, first-served basis and may change without notice once the allocation is filled.

5. Refund Policy

All sales are final. Your report is a personalized digital product generated specifically for your genetic data. Because the service is fully rendered upon delivery, refunds are not available once your report has been generated and sent.

If there is an issue with the file you uploaded (unsupported format, incomplete data, etc.), we will provide you with a link to re-upload the correct file at no additional charge. You may re-upload up to 3 times within 30 days of your original purchase.

If you do not receive your report within 24 hours, please check your spam or promotions folder, or use our self-service resend page. If you continue to have trouble, contact us at support@20percentbetter.co and we will ensure you receive your report.

6. Not Medical Advice

The reports generated by 20% Better are not medical advice. They are wellness education tools intended to help you understand certain aspects of your genetic data.

Our reports:

  • Do not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease
  • Are not a substitute for professional medical consultation
  • Should not be used to make medical decisions without consulting a qualified healthcare provider
  • Reflect general interpretations of genetic variants and may not account for your complete medical history, environment, or lifestyle

Always consult your doctor or a qualified healthcare professional before making significant changes to your diet, supplementation, exercise routine, or health management plan.

7. Accuracy and Limitations

While we strive for accuracy, genetic science is evolving. Our reports are based on current published research, clinical databases (ClinVar, PharmGKB), and our curated SNP database. Interpretations may change as new research becomes available.

The accuracy of your report also depends on the quality and completeness of the raw DNA file you upload. We are not responsible for errors in data provided by your genetic testing service.

8. Intellectual Property

The content, design, analysis methodology, and reports generated by 20% Better are protected by copyright and intellectual property laws. You may use your personal report for your own private, non-commercial use. You may share your report with your healthcare provider.

You may not reproduce, distribute, sell, or commercially exploit the reports or any content from the Service without our written permission.

9. Data and Privacy

Your privacy is fundamental to our service. Please review our Privacy Policy for detailed information about how we collect, use, and protect your data, including our zero-retention DNA policy.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, 20% Better and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, arising out of or related to your use of the Service.

Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid for the report.

11. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to:

  • Upload DNA data that is not your own without explicit consent from the data subject
  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract our analysis methodology
  • Use automated tools to access or scrape the Service
  • Resell or commercially redistribute reports generated by the Service

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify users via email or a prominent notice on our website. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration, except where prohibited by law.
